If your teeth are failing one at a time, you already know it

Some people arrive here after twenty years of fixing one tooth at a time. A crown, then a root canal, then an extraction, then another crown, and the bill keeps coming and the mouth keeps losing ground.

Others are already in a denture and hate it. It clicks. It slips when they laugh. They gave up on steak and corn on the cob and apples, and they use adhesive every morning and still do not trust it.

A conventional plan to replace a full arch with individual implants can require eight or more per jaw, plus grafting if the back bone has thinned. All-on-4 works differently. Two implants go in near the front where bone is usually strongest, and two go in at an angle toward the back, which lets them anchor into denser bone and often avoids the sinus without grafting.

Those four posts carry a full bridge of teeth. It is fixed in place. You brush it, you do not soak it, and you chew with a bite force that is dramatically closer to natural teeth than a removable denture gives you.

Whether four implants are enough in your case depends on your bone volume and density, which we determine from a 3D scan, not from a chart.

Guided placement is what makes a single-day arch realistic

Placing four angled implants freehand is demanding work, and it takes time. Every additional minute of surgery is another minute you are in the chair with your mouth open.

We use Image Guided Implantology. We take a CBCT 3D scan, then plan every implant on a computer beforehand, setting the depth and the angle around exactly where your new teeth need to sit. A surgical guide is made from that plan and it fits over your arch, holding each drill on its planned path.

Placement time drops from roughly 50 minutes per implant to about 10 to 15. Across four implants, that is the difference between a very long morning and a procedure most patients handle comfortably in one sitting.

The three things guided placement changes for you

Chair time. Shorter surgery is easier on your jaw, your back, and your nerves. For full-arch cases this is the single biggest quality-of-life difference.

Angulation you can chew on. Those back implants are tilted on purpose, and the tilt has to be right. Planning it in 3D means the angle is chosen against your actual anatomy, with measured clearance from the sinus and the nerve, rather than estimated in the moment.

Predictability. A plan made in advance is a plan the whole team can see, including the lab making your teeth. Fewer variables on surgery day means fewer surprises during healing.

What the single-day part really means

Here is the honest version, because this is where full-arch marketing usually overpromises.

On your surgery day, we remove any remaining failing teeth, place the four implants, and attach a fixed temporary arch. You go home with teeth. You do not go home toothless, and you do not spend months in a removable flipper.

What you do not go home with that day is your final arch. The implants need time to fuse to the bone, generally three to six months, and during that stretch you eat a softer diet so the implants are not being loaded before they are ready. After healing, we replace the temporary with your permanent bridge, made to your bite and your face.

Same-day teeth also depend on getting good initial stability from the bone at the time of placement. If your bone will not support immediate loading, we will tell you that on surgery day and adjust the plan rather than risk the implants. Candidacy is confirmed by exam and 3D imaging, and results vary.

What a full arch costs and how to make it workable

Full-arch treatment is a significant investment, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. The fee covers the surgery, the four implants, the temporary arch, and your final bridge, and it varies with how many extractions you need and which final material you choose. Full-arch treatment at our Fort Smith office typically runs $35,000 per arch, and you get an exact written number at your consultation.
